Pakistan: Suspected US missile strike kills at least 12 in Waziristan

Miranshah, 14 Nov. (AKI) - Suspected US drones fired at least three missiles to Pakistan's volatile Waziristan region early on Friday killing at least 12 people and injuring several others. The missiles were reportedly launched to a house in the remote village of Garyom that belonged to a tribal man known as Mir Gul, said Pakistan's Geo News.

US officials believe Taliban and Al-Qaeda militants operate in the troubled tribal area of northwestern Pakistan, further destabilising neighbouring Afghanistan.

The attack is the latest in a series of US drone attacks to target Pakistan in recent months and is certain to provoke widespread debate in Pakistan.
